On July 16th we held our second to the last West Texas Kayak Fishing tournament of the season in San Angelo, TX. As the weather gets hotter so does the kayak fishing tournament scene out in West Texas. We had 30+ anglers show up for the second time this year. Thank you all for continuing to show up and make these events fun. Special thanks to Happy Trails Outdoor Goods and More of San Angelo for hosting this event for us. Not only did they let all of us anglers crowd the nice cold store they also donated a Yeti rambler to the #stringerForecast winner and a $25 gift card for random drawing. You can watch the weigh in video here.
Congratulations to Blake Cline for absolutely destroying the field reeling in 81.5 inches of San Angelo largemouth bass. Rumor has it he caught his limit by flipping a senko with a 1/2 weight and upgraded a couple of times with a baby brush hog with a 1/2 ounce weight. He caught all his fish around shallow wood on the Concho River in San Angelo. You can see his winning bag stringer here on the WTKF Facebook Page.
Make sure you check out the Angler of the Year standings too. It is going to be a close call going into the last event of the season.
Big Bass 22.5 inches caught by Cody Stewart
Tony Deitz won the #StringerForecast by guessing the Tournament Directors total inches without going over. His guess was 64.25 and the actual length caught was 66.25 inches.
